In this episode of the Agent Rise podcast, co-hosts Neil Mathweg and Mindi Kessenich delve into the concept of removing limiting beliefs that can hinder our path to success.

Drawing from his personal experience, Neil shares a childhood memory that had a profound impact on his identity and how he was able to rewrite those memories.

The memory that Neil recounts involves being called out and compared to the character "Chunk" from the movie The Goonies by one of his best friend's friends. To gain acceptance and approval from others, Neil resorted to humor and entertainment. He reflects on how this belief carried on into his adulthood and influenced his weight loss journey. He believed that being big and funny was the key to acceptance, and losing weight would result in losing that acceptance.

Mindi also shares a scary part of her childhood and how these past memories continue to play out multiple times in her life.  You'll hear how powerful it has become to rewrite these memories to better serve her today.

Neil goes on to discuss how he learned to talk to himself instead of listing to himself, a concept he picked up from TJ McGraw, the featured guest on this episode. TJ joins the podcast and shares his insights on how limiting beliefs can hold us back from reaching our true potential and how we can rewrite the narrative in our minds.

TJ emphasizes the importance of identifying and acknowledging limiting beliefs, and then actively challenging and rewriting them to create a new empowering belief system. He and Neil discuss the power of self-talk and how it shapes our beliefs and actions. They also explore the role of acceptance and approval from others in our lives and how it can impact our self-worth and confidence.

Neil shares how rewriting his past memory and changing his belief about acceptance and approval has transformed his life and allowed him to see himself in a new light. He encourages listeners to reflect on their own limiting beliefs and take steps to rewrite them in order to unlock their true potential.

The key takeaways from this episode are that limiting beliefs can hold us back from achieving our true potential and need to be identified, acknowledged, challenged, and rewritten. Self-talk plays a crucial role in shaping our beliefs and actions, and it's important to listen to ourselves and actively talk to ourselves in empowering ways. Acceptance and approval from others should not be the sole basis of our self-worth and confidence, and it's essential to recognize our intrinsic value and worthiness. Rewriting past memories and changing our beliefs about ourselves can lead to transformation and help us remove the limiting beliefs that stand in our way.

Don't miss this insightful episode on removing limiting beliefs and gaining a new perspective on acceptance, approval, and self-talk. Tune in now to the Agent Rise podcast!

Neil opens up about his fear around money and how it has affected his mindset, but he has started to shift his perspective and treat money like a game of Monopoly, where he gets another turn if things go wrong.

In this podcast episode, Neil shares his story of how he lost over 100 pounds without dieting and how it can help real estate agents. He explains that he had tried almost every diet and lifestyle tip on weight loss but was still not successful. He realized that he needed to change his thinking and asked himself the question, "What do healthy people do?" This led him to make a list of things that healthy people do, such as drinking lots of water, wearing Fitbits, eating small portions of the right food, getting enough sleep, meditating, and taking cold showers. He then started doing what healthy people do and making decisions based on the question, "What do healthy people do?" He encourages others to do the same, and by changing their thinking, they can also become healthier and happier.  Now, what does this have to do with your real estate business?  You'll have to listen to this episode!

"Finding Opportunities in a Tight Real Estate Market"

In this episode of the Agent Rise podcast, co-hosts Neil Mathweg and Mindy Kessenich discuss the current state of the real estate market and the opportunities it presents. They liken the market to a balloon that, when squeezed in one area, shrinks, but expands in another. Despite the market being tight and inventory low, they believe there are still ample opportunities to be found.

In this episode, we'll share three opportunities we see right now.  One such opportunity they discuss is working with investors. While interest rates may be higher, rents are also increasing, making investment properties a viable option. Many people are holding onto their current homes due to low interest rates and may be interested in investing in real estate in other ways.

The importance of looking for opportunities rather than dwelling on the challenges presented by the current market. By focusing on what you can control and being open to new possibilities, you can continue to thrive in the real estate industry.

The Real Estate Agent's Guide to Quieting the Mind and Maximizing Sales

In this episode of Agent Rise Podcast, host Neil Mathweg and Mindi Kessenich continue their discussion from the previous week about quieting the mind to find the answer. They talk about how in the winter market when there is excitement, fear, and lack of motivation, people often turn their attention to challenges rather than opportunities. However, one can decide where to focus their attention and control their thoughts.

Quieting the mind is essential to get out of the mess and shifting one's mindset. By imagining a peaceful state and relaxing the mind, one can find the answer to their problems. They also advise that one should not give up on their goals and plans despite the challenges of the deep, dark winter, and instead keep planning and working towards them as if it's going to be the best year ever. The hosts conclude by saying that the hardest, easiest thing in the world is to quiet the mind, rely on the source, and keep going.

In the world of real estate, the key to success lies in winning those all-important listing appointments. With so many agents vying for the same listings, it's crucial to stand out from the crowd and demonstrate your value to potential clients.

One of the key ways to do this is by approaching your listing appointments as a listener. Many agents are so focused on selling themselves and their services that they forget to listen to what the seller really wants and needs. By going in with the mindset of a listener, you'll immediately differentiate yourself from the competition and start to build trust with the seller.

According to Mindi Kessenich, this is especially important in today's market, where buyers and sellers are both more nervous than ever. They're looking for someone they can trust, and the first step in building that trust is to listen and address their concerns.

Neil Mathweg, another seasoned real estate professional, agrees that asking questions is the key to winning listings. He emphasizes the importance of asking questions not only at the appointment, but also before the appointment, through the use of a questionnaire. By gathering information about the seller's needs and concerns, you'll be better equipped to serve them.

Once you've asked questions and established a rapport with the seller, it's essential to follow up with honesty. Mindi suggests asking for permission to be 100% honest as you tour the home, as this demonstrates your expertise and builds trust. By giving the seller an honest assessment of their property, you'll establish yourself as the go-to agent in their eyes.

In conclusion, the art of winning listing appointments requires a combination of listening, asking questions, and honesty. By approaching each appointment with these principles in mind, you'll set yourself apart from the competition and establish a relationship of trust with your clients.

How Real Estate Agents Should Shift In A High Interest Rate Market - Part 3 - Episode 377

If you're like most real estate agents, your market is shifting before your eyes.  With interest rates up over 7% we're seeing buyer demand pull way back and homes taking longer to sell.  How do we navigate through this shift and how do you as an agent position you're self to flourish?

In this episode,

Who is going to give up the 3% rate? No one is going to move. Wrong. They are saying sales could slide 20%. I don’t but if that was the case. Don’t focus on the 20% that won’t. Focus on the 80% that will.

38% of homeowners don’t have a mortgage. So more than 1/3rd of the population could care less what the interest rates are. And how many owe less than $100,000?

You have to ask "who will be moving?"  We uncover that in this episode.

Plus we discuss how it’s our time to shine as great listing agents.  It's time to be excellent at staging, photos, and video.  How to set great expectations with your sellers, and set up a communication plan for success.  All of this and much more!

How Real Estate Agents Should Shift In A High Interest Rate Market - Part 2 - Episode 376

If you're like most real estate agents, your market is shifting before your eyes.  With interest rates up over 7% we're seeing buyer demand pull way back and homes taking longer to sell.  How do we navigate through this shift and how do you as an agent position you're self to flourish?

In this episode, we cover the realization that...

“Low interest rates weren’t FREE” - Mindi Sue Kessenich

It came at the cost of:
👉 Paying over asking, sometimes $50k $100k more
👉 It often came with having to wave inspection to stand out from the other offers.
👉 It often came with no terms in favor of the buyer.
👉It came with a horrible shopping experience that left most buyers exhausted and burnt out. It’s left most agents beyond exhausted, many with PTSD and little desire to enjoy their careers.

Today the market is so much better for buyers -
👉 better deals, well at least not paying over ask
👉 better terms, can actually have an inspection
👉 and way better shopping experience. You can actually negotiate. There is enough inventory to pick from.
The ONLY con is the interest rates.
But here is the thing… we can actually do something about the interest rates. We couldn’t do anything to cool the sellers' market. Get excited we can do something about interest rates.

What lender has the best deal? We can do something about the rates:
👉 Buydowns
👉 ARM’s
👉 Assumable VA, FHA, and USDA Loans
👉 n/a for a cash buyer

Agents, don’t be afraid of high interest rates, and instead, take the energy and go find the best deals from lenders. Understand the best deals and be the agent that really helps buyers find the best rates and plans.
